allergies! pillow protectors

WFL112 | Posted in Fabric and Trim on

Hello,

My allergies improved after I started using an allergy pillow protector.

I’d like to make a similar covering for the down cushion and back pillow of a loveseat.

What sort of fabric would work well and not cost the earth?  How about microfiber? The pillow protector seems to be made of Tyvek.

Is there a source for special allergy fabrics?

Thanks,

WFL

I was told a great way to eliminate dust mites from your pillows. Once a week throw them in the dryer on high heat for 30-40 mites. Kills them and they are allergy free.

Well, maybe it wasn't just allergies after all. I'm just getting over the longest cold of my life!

I like the idea of killing the mites in the dryer but the cushion is really large; it is a
chair and a half" and I don't think my dryer is up to the job.

I guess I could buy an inexpensive mattress cover and use that for fabric.

Thanks kindly, and sorry for the delay.
