Hi, quite old to threads but not a regular user of gatherings – that’s me. I live in England – Staffordshire area. Want to visit fabric stores in Copenhagen and have mislaid the threads article that did an issue on where to get great fabric in that country – anyone know? thanks.

Stof 2000 is one of the bigger ones. There are several throughout the city. There is also a really nice men's suit fabric/evening fabric place but I cannot seem to get my hands on the business card I had. The Danish word for fabric is Stof or Tekstil. Maybe you can narrow down stores based on how close they are to your hotel:

Also, I just got an e-mail from Tone Barker silk this week. They are now selling fabric direct. Here is their website:

Ooh, yummy! I just checked out the Tone Barker silk site - Makes me want to sew underthings! And according to the XE.com currency converter, even the high-priced spread (at 265 DKK) isn't *outrageously* expensive - 45" wide for $50US per meter (40 inches) sounds fairly reasonable for what you're getting. Of course, that doesn't mean I'm writing a check tonight, but I hope you know what I mean!Thanks for the links. I, too hope that lgardener has/had a fabulous trip! Kharmin
Did you check out the dresses at Tone Barker, too? Their stuff is so beautiful. And yes, I know exactly what you mean! I'm still debating whether to order some of the yardage. Haven't checked out the shipping charges yet! Not sure I'm good enough of a sewer to warrant $50/meter fabric!
