What machine should I buy? Help!

I am searching for the right sewing machine, specially to do hem on jeans pants, my old singer had to be repaired three times already, a cost of almost $100.00 each time …I really need to buy a stronger machine!!! but which one?
I did visit my local dealers Janome and Pfaff, their recommendation : Centurion 2000 by Janome and Pfaff recommends the model 6091.
I would appreciate your recommendation and if anyone owns these models please tell me what you think of it.

Still shopping for a new machine! especially to do hem on jean pants....looking at the Pfaff 6091 and the Bernina 1008, both the same price!. Anyone who owns it and can help me take a decision would be appreciated.

*Help! I've been shopping for a computerized machine all summer and can't make up my mind. Didn't think I could afford a Viking but found a used Lily 540 that looks promising. Also a new White 8800. I know Viking makes White, but is there a down side to going with the White and not the Viking the White does a few more stitches and is new for 800.00 and the Viking is 600.00. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
*My recommendations about buying sewing machines is to either spend enough to get a good one or buy a USED one. There are many really good used machines that used to be the top-of-the-line models available from sewers who traded UP. At our dealer there is a full one year gaurentee is offered with all used sewing machines.I like Pfaff just because of the built in duel-feed/walking foot. I use a lot of machines in my sewing shop and have purchased three used models. And soon I will be purchasing a used Pfaff 7570 which just stepped down from being the top-of-the-line when the new Pfaff came out. I was waiting for this. [No affiliation to Pfaff or any brand of sewing machine or any dealership.]
*I love my Pfaff 675. I bought it nearly 10 years ago. It is hard working and makes the best sound when it is at work. I clean it myself and I have yet to have it breakdown. I use it 3-4 hours a day. It is comfortable to use. My guess is that you can find one used for not too much $$$. I spent $750 for it new. It is really reliable - just a good egg. It has all the qualities you would want in a best friend or in a husband. Sarah
*I just checked the price of used Pfaff 7570's this week. They will be somewhere around $3,000. The new 2140's are now available to buy but aren't being delivered fast enough for the buyers. There may be a wait for the used 7570 for a few months yet. I have a 7550 and am happy with it, but will add a 7570 when I can [probably 2 years].Please look at my message in response to the post about Pfaff 1471 by Janice Bowden.Paula White
