supplier of down feathers

annettebarberis | Posted in Equipment and Supplies on

Does anyone knows where I can buy good down feathers to use to bolster up a down sleeping bag. I know you can get them as I had extra feathers put into my -10C sleeping bag by a local outdoor shop. I would like to add extra feathers again. I would appreciate any help as I want to make the bag warm enough for my son to go fly fishing in the high country with my husband and withstand the cool nights.

There used to be a company in Seattle, I think, that made kits for down garments and other outdoor equipment.  They packed down in bags that were water-soluble--a pretty good trick, I thought.  Try Googling sleeping bag kits; maybe you'll get lucky.  If you're at all allergic to dust mites, be extremely careful ; old down is the mother lode of allergens.
