For the basic quilter and keeping in the midprice range. Which brand would be best? The Jenome, New Home, Brother, or Kenmore?

I am shopping for a new sewing machine, would appreciate any recommendation, and in advance I thank you.
I need a machine to mostly do alterations on jeans fabric. One store recommended the "Centurion 2000 by Janome", the other store the "PFAFF Stretch & Jeans 6091", they both run about the same price $600.00 and do a good job it seems on jeans fabric.
Would someone owns it ? would you recommend one of those two or any other? THANK YOU ALL!
