sewhot290 | Posted in Equipment and Supplies on

After 30 years, my bernina serger has about had it. Does anyone have a recommendation?

I have only had my Huskverna serger for about 5 years, and I love it.  I once owner a Bernina commerc.al sewing machine and raved about it, but have also owned a Viking machine which I called my little "work horse."  One caution I might add about european manufacturers...They have recently been manufacturing some of their machines in China...for example Phaff,s Select machines.  I think the most important factor in buying a new machine is the dealer.

I agree with Kate - the most important thing is the dealer - someone who will stand behind their products and will service it.  Having said that I love my Baby Lock Imagine.I had one that had cover stitch and it took so long to change it over I had to look it up each time and I often just used a double stretch needle instead.  I don't miss it.
