Serger advice

UKValkyrie | Posted in Equipment and Supplies on

I own a second-hand Huskylock 936 serger.  My husband bought it off Ebay as a present, and to be blunt, he was deceived.  It is missing the part that allows it to do 2-thread overlock and our local repairman said it had been used hard (contrary to the advertising), and suffering from fatigue.  One of the presser feet was cracked from slamming it up and down, and we can’t find a replacement that allows us to do 5 thread overlock…

So I’m considering replacing it with the new S25.  I notice markedly different reviews of the S25 from year or so ago…  Does anyone have a current opinion?  Have owners gotten used to the placement of the presser foot up/down?  The lack of a free arm?  Would you buy it again?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    serger reviews

Have you checked out the machine reviews at Patternreview.com?  I recommend this only because there are a lot of reviews and the machine you're considering is likely to be in the listing.
