Recommendations for Home Dec sewing machine

user-827549 | Posted in Equipment and Supplies on

I already have 4 sewing machines. However, none of them can accommodate sewing that is rather thick under the presser foot. Because I have recently started a sewing business at home, and I’m starting to get more Home Dec jobs, I’m realizing that I should start searching for a (used) machine that is both strong and handles thicker sewing, like fabric that has several folds.
Can anyone please tell me their opinion of what I should be on the lookout for?

    Heavy Duty Sewing Machine

Take a few scraps of what you have sewn or will be sewing and visit as many sewing machine dealers as you can find.  They will be able to help you with your dilemma by letting you test drive and use the samples to see what works well for you.

Recommendation of a particular used brand or model, would not be helpful if it is not available and might result in overlooking something that is just the ticket.

I will suggest mechanical over electronic as the electronic machines tend to bulk where the mechanical machines plow right through.
