Balencia | Posted in Equipment and Supplies on

Hi anyone know where I could purchase a pattern making book that guides me through making sportswear patterns – I make my own patterns anyway and wanted to branch into sportswear as play alot of tennis and wanted to kit myself out!  and anyone else at tennis club who might like to try my wears.  Thanks,  Les.

Yours,

I just looked over a pattern making book that had some sportwear in it:

Metric Pattern Cutting (4thed) Winifred Aldrich

It may have been just one or two pages though.

I own another book: I think its called

The Art of Sportwear, a Time Life book published maybe a couple of decades ago.

This forum has talked about that series (The Art of ...), but I don't know how it stacks up to more recent information.

    good luck in your search

You asked at the right place.  There's a lot of smart people who post here.

thanks for that, I actually have the winifred Aldrich book but wanted something bit more specialised but will probably adapt those patterns in there with no trouble. thanks

Actually, there is.  I have it in my sewing studio -- among the hundred-or-so books in there.  I'll try and find it for you tomorrow.  Can't remember the title or author right this moment.  I've referred to it in the past and found it to be very helpful....donna kaye

Okay.  I've rummaged through every book in my studio and can't find the book I'm looking for.  I must have lent it out.  I do have one called "Sewing with Knits" that contains bathing suits and the like.  Would that interest you?

      Hello ,

I think I have that book but it does not have patternmaking instructions in, thanks anyway.

Duh.  I was looking for my books on making activewear.  Now that I've got my books all organized into one place, thanks to you, I can take a quick glance through them again.
