Irong board
Hi everyone
I'm looking for a good quality ironing board that is more sturdy than ones found at most stores. Any ideas?
Thanks
Trica

craft book versions (post #35955, reply #2 of 3)
When I read through craft books, a lot of the authors mention that if you can pad a table, that would make one of the best ironing areas. This is another idea, one that I always wanted to try. my parents were tailors and in their basement as a second workshop from their retail, they used to pad a variety of tables and practically a lot of shapes that were usable for ironining were padded in strong cotton canvas. I don't have that sort of floor space. This is another idea.
Hi Trica this it what I have (post #35955, reply #3 of 3)
Hi Trica this it what I have done for a ironing board I purchased a peice of plywood to use large enough to use I coverd the ply wood with
quilt batting and a cotton high loft fiber fill batting and some duck canvas this is how it was done 1st place the quilt batting on the plywood 2nd place the high loft fiber fill batting on top of the quilt batting 3rd place another layer of quilt batting on the high loft batting 4th place the duck canvas on the top then staple all layers to the ply wood purchase a peice that you can move easy for storage this is a real space saver and you can make it what ever size you want this can be use on the top of your kitchen or dining roon table
Happy sewing GOD BLESS to all we learn something new here every day Dionna
