evolve light bulb

sewpro | Posted in Equipment and Supplies on

Does anyone know a special trick for getting the light bulb out of an Evolve serger? The last time it burned out, I took it in and the dealer charged me $20 to replace it and wouldn’t let me see how he did it! The manual says, remove the light bulb, nothing else. It doesn’t seem to be a screw type, because it doesn’t respond to twisting. Tired of serging in the dark…..

If unscsrewing doesn't work, then it's probably a bayonet bulb.  There are only 2 kinds of sewing machine/serger light bulbs--screw in and bayonet.  Apparently the Evolve come both ways.  http://www.babylock.com/ftp/whitepapers/Evolve_BLE8W_InstructionRef.pdf  Push the light bulb up into the socket and give a quarter turn to the right or left.  The light bulb should just pop out.
