pants fitting

chefeileen01's picture

I'm new to this but hope someone can help. My pants fit great but when I wear them, they seem to move to one side, ie: centre back seam moves over to right and centre front(zipper) moves to the left. When I check, holding centre back and centre front, both sides are exactly the same. what causes this and how can I remedy it.

You might check the grain line (did you make them?) they might not be cut straight.

Thankyou for your quick reply. No, I didn't make them but being "store bought" I could imagine that grain line is not always a priority. Will have to check the grain on them. If its off, then it's probably good-bye slacks.

Forgive me for suggesting this, but you might also want to check the grain on your body.  It's possible a once-symmetrical hipline is now higher or lower on one side.  Galey

You know Galey, there is probably some validity to your suggestion. This 73 year old, is 40 lbs heavier than a slim 21 year old and there are many bulges and posture problems over the last 52 years. ( I would like to think that my figure is the same, Oh well!!)

All my other shorts and pants are ok. tho most are homemade.

I wonder about your spine and whether you maybe have a bit of curve in it which produces some rotation of your trunck. I see this alot in older people in my work as a physiotherapist. I dont know how you would alter fit for this though although you seem to have done this in your homemade ones so maybe you will just have to keep at .
