Husqvarna Viking Viva sewing machine

starzoe | Posted in Creative Machine on

Sorry about the snow. We get rain instead (west coast Canada). About the Viking. I am not up on the new Viking machines (sold as Husqvarna here), but I have had one for over 22 years and it is still going strong, so much so that I have decided not to invest in one of the newer models. I sew a lot, am still very happy with it.

Welcome!  I, too, am sick of looking at snow.  Here inn Michigan, spring never really arrives until May, though.  I, too, own a Viking, model Iris.  Love it.  4 years old, runs great, solid machine.  Has the additional small embroidery ability, which eventually lead me into a much larger Brother 6-thread embroidery machine.

    Viking is great, no worries.

When I wanted to get into machine embroidery whole-heartedly, I bought a Designer 1 and then traded up for and SE and have since gotten a second SE.  I used Pfaff years ago and Janome more recently but I must say I LOVE my Husqvarna SE's.  They're user friendly and do so much.  Check out the reviews on Patterreview.  I did that recently and found that people really like their Husqvarnas...........

Sorry, I don't know anything about the Viva.................just the brand.

One of my machines is a Viking Interlude 445 and it is a wonderful machine. It is computerized and has wonderful features and stitches.

Viking of course has their top of the line models and embroidery etc. and now also have a lower line of machines that are of Swedish design but not made in Sweden but the their mechanical and middle line computerized machines that are made in Sweden are much the same machine one year and they change the color and the name of the machine and maybe add a feature or two and then they rename the newer model.

At first I thought the Viva was a mechanical model like the Lena, Emma, Sophia and Anna Viking models but I just found a chart on line that says it is in the same computerized group 6 as my Interlude, the Rose and Platinum models which I feel are all terrific machines. I had to edit this to say that there are several reviews for the Viking Viva on line by owners at PatternReview.com. It sort of looks like the Viking Rose.

Hi! Many thanks for the feedback. I am busy putting out the word to customers that we have the machine available, and this way I can really give it a vote of confidence. I really appreciate it! Have a good week.

The Viking Rose is in the same group, an excellent machine, my grandkids have all used it extensively and it's 11 years old and belongs to my grand daughter now.  I can confidently highly reccommend it for all types of sewing, quilting, and embroidery.  Beautiful stitches and a real workhorse with lots of great features.  Mary

I had a Viking at one time and it was a very quality machine.  I did not buy a second one because it was an all day trip thru terrible traffic to get to the dealers.  However because of my experience with that company my new riding mower is manufactured by that company!  Those of you with Vikings should love them.

woohoo!  Congrats on your new riding mower!  They are so fun to drive!  Didn't know H/V made one, let us know what you think of it.  Mary

I'm just learning but at my age with an 8 year old son I decided it was too much using a push mower on  two properties and I have to be around awhile longer to raise my son.  I'm the last person in the world who could afford to buy it.  I'll let you know how it goes!  So far it seems like it's taken charge of me instead of vice versa but I'll learn!  A little like flying.  I totally have control of my gasoline push mowers!  At least until I feel like collapsing in this 100 to 105 degree heat we're having.  I'm really excited about its being a Husqvarna.
