An international discussion group RAGTRADE is MEANT FOR AND ONLY FOR THE CLOTHING INDUSTRY. This is a group list where people from/related to the RAG TRADE, i.e. people who have anything to do with fashion, clothing, fabric, yarn, dyes, accessories, etc. who might be manufacturers, converteres, importers, exporters, wholesalers, retailers, etc can come together to share their knowledge, experiences, problems and among other things, discuss trends (past, present and future), new developments, etc.

This is a moderated e-mail discussion for :

a. professional business people around the world who would like to expand their businesses and their business contacts in other countries.

b. students studying fashion/fabrics/etc.

c. professionals wanting to meet other professionals in same/similar fields for research and development.

It is sponsored by the members of the RAG TRADE. Basic Membership of the RAG TRADE is free of charge and comes with your subscription to the RAG TRADE mailing list.

We are a new list and in future hope to add local groups for face-to-face meetings around the world.

Unlike most e-lists. the RAG TRADE is an intenational list, and as such, is intended for distribution in and participation from all regions and countries around the world.

Use this list to make new contacts, ask questions and ask for help or give help, find new business partners and share business intelligence and resources with successful executives and traders around the globe.

You need not be very experienced to take part. You can learn from those who are. Feel free to ask questions. And don't worry if English is not your first language. The content of your message is the most important thing, not your language skills.

Please use any information you receive from the list at your own risk, as you would with any unverified information. The moderator has no way of verifying information that appears in list postings.

Here is how it works:

First, subscribe and watch how the list works for a few days before sending in a posting. This will give you a chance to see how the whole system works and the form messages take.

Once you have a little experience with the RAG TRADE Discussion Group, you can send in a message about you, your professional background, your products/services in the form of a introduction. You can also ask questions or bring up topics of international business that might be of interest to you and your company.

Your introduction should not be a hard-sell message. It should focus on you, your experience and your background. Give a brief description of your company's products/services . . . don't try to sell them. You'll hear from interested business people ... if not this week, as you continue to stay active.

You send your message to the posting address given below. Assuming it fits within the scope of the RAG TRADE Discussion Group, it will be distributed to thousands of members around the world.

A small percentage of these may contact you and request additional information. Or, if you ask a question, you should get a few good answers. Don't expect to be buried in mail though.
