Search for Pashmina shawl/vest pattern

betty_boop | Posted in The Archives on

I am searching for a past published (I think in 2007) article describing how to make a vest out of a Pashmina shawl.  Can anyone either tell me in which issue this appeared or tell me how I can get a copy of the article?  Thanks!!

betty-boop, I don't have an answer for you but at a recent craft show I tried on a jacket made out of a pashmina shawl.  It only had side seams, shoulder seams and set in sleeves.  The back, fronts and shawl collar were all one piece with no seams.

If someone knows how the shawl is cut to achieve this jacket,  I would greatly appreciate it.

In the Quick to Make section of Threads there were directions by Pat Moriarity to make vests from shawls.  I don't have the issue number but I think it was in the last year or so -- does Threads have a database to search by author?

Maybe the Istanbul Vest  Nov. 2007 #137?   Make a clever bias-cut topper out of a rectangular shawl.

This is a good site to look for articles:  http://www.sewingmuse.org/index.php
